The Laboratory on AI, Climate and Society held its inaugural Open House, bringing together students, researchers, practitioners, and emerging collaborators working across artificial intelligence, Earth science, climate justice, and public policy.
The gathering introduced LAICS’s research priorities and created space for participants to exchange ideas on responsible AI, environmental decision-making, and the unequal social consequences of climate change and digital infrastructure. It also opened conversations around student-led research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and partnerships with communities whose knowledge and experience must shape climate and technology governance.
Thank you to everyone who joined us as we begin building a research community committed to transparent, accountable, and equity-centred AI.
